Do you ever take a moment to stop and breathe? Do you ever sit to hear your heartbeat? Or as they say "count your blessings"?  It is way easier said than done. As you may have noticed while watching documentaries, movies or even meeting one yourself, Buddhist are very disciplined, enlightened people. 

 They truly live in the moment and stop to smell the roses. They are asked by many people to perform blessings. A popular blessing in Thailand is to bless the car or motorcycle for safe travels. In addition to this, a popular trend is to have a Buddhist blessings at your wedding.

Buddhist prayers and blessings involve a lot of reflecting time. In order to reflect you need a clear mind. Chanting helps with getting into a rhythm and peaceful state of mind. Whether you are Buddhist or not, this following blessings is a positive thing to practice.

General Buddhist Blessings for all beings.

May everyone be happy and safe,

and may their hearts be filled with joy.

May all living beings live in security and in peace

beings who are frail or strong,

tall or short, big or small,

visible or not visible, near or far away,

already born or yet to be born.

May all of them dwell in perfect tranquility.

Let no one do harm to anyone.

Let no one put the life of anyone in danger.

Let no one, out of anger or ill will,

wish anyone any harm.
